Psalm 16

Posted: August 14, 2014 in psalms
(1) Preserve me, O God, for in you I take refuge…

God indeed preserves his saints (did I say that’s you and me?), and really we should start taking inventory on how he preserves us. Keep a journal and take note of what He has done already. Check your battle scars, it speaks of how God has spared us time and time again.

(2) I say to the LORD, “You are my Lord; I have no good apart from you.”

Re-commit again. Hows your (our) heart? Is He still Lord of all or none at all? We really are not good for anything apart from Him.

(3) As for the saints in the land, they are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight.

God delights with his saints. He is pleased not because of what we do, but because we are his children. It is something similar to seeing a child, despite messing up big time, still looks cute. Delighting because of our affinity, not because of our “works”. A Child also knows how to please the Father, and strives to do so. 🙂
