I will not accept a bull from your house

or goats from your folds.

For every beast of the forest is mine,

the cattle on a thousand hills.

I know all the birds of the hills,

and all that moves in the field is mine.

Psalm 50:9-11

Sometimes, we feel like we have given God  too much. There is the tendency to complain or withhold what is due Him specially in the tithes and offering.  We tend to look at our needs, our limited resources, we look at how far payday is.

We sometimes complain that we’ve given our ‘due time’ to church activities, or to the youth ministry, or to discipleship.

We sometimes want to say, ‘God…haven’t I given enough?’

We use our resources for our own benefit but when it comes to building the kingdom of God, we sigh. For example, we use our cellphones to communicate with our friends and hang out with them but we don’t use the same gadget to invite them to know Christ. We spend hours on social media looking at what other people have, and talk about it with others but we don’t use the same tools to glorify God.

We may not have goats or bulls or birds to give to God but we have every equipment, every tool at our disposal to be accountable for.

Who owns it?

It’s God.

So use your phones and computer for His glory. Use your time to honor God. Take a moment to return to the Lord what is His. Remember, we are just stewards, not masters.
