Glory in sufferings

Romans 5: 3-4 Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.

You’re in a situation right now wherein you can perfectly tell that it’s a problem and the coming days are uncertain. But you are holding on to that faith of yours knowing perfectly as well that God has got it all figured out for you. And here you are, doing a perfect job of being calm and submissible to God’s sovereignty. But subconsciously hoping that what you wanted in life is what God also wanted in your life. You only want to hope for the best. “Your” kind of best. Hoping and praying yet again that God also wanted it for your life.

But while you are in that moment—right now where you are dealing with whatever it is that you’re dealing—Romans 5:3-4 will remind us that God wants us to glory in our sufferings. I know by being a Christian since birth and being truly a Christian for a long time makes this statement clichéd once someone or even us declaring this promise of God comes out of our mouths. But we know too well as well that it’s unarguably true. Once again, God has won over you. Once again, consciously telling us that to do what God wants us to do—to glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.
