Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. Matthew 7:12

Jesus in his lifetime and as recorded in the Bible has shown us his way of dealing with people that in one way or another, we’ve handled differently. As prophesied in Isaiah 53:7, it showed us a Jesus who chose to ignore irritation (He would be oppressed and afflicted yet He did not open His mouth). In Matthew 18:15, Jesus would urged direct confrontation (If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you). Also, Jesus choosing not to respond to annoyances by not retaliating in any way.

But Jesus gave us a rule of thumb in Matthew 7:12. It reminds us that (1)Respect begets respect, and (2)For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. So, we treat people the way we want to be treated.
