Take a stand.

We are called to be salt and light of the world. Simply put it, we’re not called to be invisible Christians, or undercover agents. We are called to make ripples that eventually create waves. In order to make waves…

#1 We must stand.

No one can create ripples just by sitting down. No one can create waves just by staying in the sidelines. That’s why in Ephesians 6:11, it says…

“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.”

The first step is taking a stand for Jesus. Putting on the armor is being intentional about the things of God so we can stand. In order for us to be able to stand for God, we need to know Him. Hence, we do small groups, we come to church on Sundays (or Fridays in the youth group), we equip ourselves with one to one discipleship, as well as our personal devotions and prayer life. The good thing is we don’t have to stand alone. We can stand beside one another.

#2 After we make a stand, we lean to the right…right to the people beside us.

Reading Acts 1:8, Scriptures says that…

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

When we are born again, we also have the Holy Spirit within us enabling us to be witnesses. Jerusalem speaks of people close to us, within our city limits. Judea speaks of cities outside our city. Samaria speaks of the outer parts until it reaches the edge of our country, and beyond our region. We have friends that needs to speak a message of salvation to. We need to share the gospel to people right beside us. Pray for them.

#3 After we make a stand, and after we lean to the right, the next step is to lean on the left…lean to those who are left behind in this world in not knowing Jesus.

Mark 16:15 says…

And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.”

We have the mandate to go into all the world. This is not to travel or to keep on going places. We are to go to proclaim the gospel. We have to think of those who are left to themselves. We need to think bigger than ourselves, that there are areas that needs Christ.

So take a stand. Lean to the right. Lean to the left.
